Job Description:

A leading Infrastructure Consulting firm is growing their Advisory capability in the North and looking for an Associate Director to join and help lead their Asset Management practice.

The business has won multiple awards for best in class across a range of industries and services and is recognised as a global leader in their field. They offer a suite of services to clients across the built environment, from advisory to construction and engineering, digital, sustainability, and project & programme management. The firm also provides candidates the opportunity to work on some of the most complex and forward-thinking projects in the market, which really make a difference to communities and business.

The candidates coming in will sit in their Asset Management team based across the North West and Yorkshire. The team applies in-depth asset management knowledge and skills to support strategy and delivery across a range of client projects, focusing principally on Transport, Rail, Water, Highways, Utilities, and Energy.

Successful candidates will likely have strengths in some of the following areas:

  • Asset Portfolio Optimisation: Looking strategically at complex portfolios of asset classes across various industries - assessing adherence to regulations, future proofing, sustainability and net zero considerations and creating road maps for increasing efficiency, reducing cost and waste.
  • Strategy development: Development of asset management strategy that sets out short and medium-term direction of travel to support a risk-based intervention plan to ensure continued reliable operation of assets as they approach end of life.
  • Asset Management Systems: Review of existing operating model and asset management systems, assessment of issues and opportunities to support development and delivery of a new digital enterprise asset management system.
  • Business planning: Developing and reviewing investment decision-making frameworks and regulatory business planning in the water sector to support water companies on their regulatory business plans submissions.
  • Asset Health and Monitoring: Using digital tools to assist with investment planning, asset valuation, monitoring and reporting to improve understanding of the condition of the asset stock and monitor change over time based on deterioration and investment decisions. This can then be used to provide evidence-based criteria to support intervention.

Given the seniority of the role, work will also include:

  • Developing and managing client relationships, particularly with existing client organisations and internally across the business. Cross-selling and identifying opportunities for other service lines and articulating the value of the firm as a whole.
  • Developing opportunities with these clients and leading the delivery of bids/proposals supporting the ongoing growth of the business.
  • Taking responsibility for a team, supporting their personal development, providing coaching, addressing performance issues, and undertaking annual appraisals. Recruitment of appropriate individuals to build corporate capacity and capability.
  • Strengthening our Asset Management capability by growing the team and developing their technical skills.
  • Being the day-to-day project director on a number of our projects, ensuring we deliver agreed outcomes, to the quality expected within agreed commercial outcomes.

With time in office, client site, and home. The team is based in the various offices including Leeds, Liverpool, and Manchester so will consider candidates in any of these locations and potentially others in the North.

Salary is also negotiable, based on experience and performance through the process but will likely be somewhere between £85,000 and £120,000 + package.
