Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an Asset Engineer to join the Asset Strategy & Systems team to plan and deliver highway maintenance and asset management projects across the county. You will use asset management principles to prioritise schemes and deliver improvements that benefit communities.
You will work with colleagues, contractors and partners, managing budgets and risks while contributing to asset management strategies.

From roads and footways to cycle routes and public rights of way, you'll help ensure our transport infrastructure remains safe, reliable and fit for the future. About the role As an Asset Engineer, you'll play a key role in planning and delivering maintenance and improvement schemes across the highway network. You'll use asset management principles to help us make the best investment decisions, maximise value for money and support our long-term maintenance strategies. Working with colleagues, contractors, councillors, local communities and external partners, you'll help turn plans into successful projects that improve everyday journeys for residents and visitors alike. No two days are the same. One day you could be developing maintenance programmes and reviewing asset data, and the next you could be meeting local stakeholders, managing project delivery or helping to respond to urgent highway issues.
A degree in Civil Engineering or professional registration such as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer would be advantageous, but is not essential.
