Job description

Chichester College Group has an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Assessor Trainer for Education and Childcare based in Chichester . You will join us on a part-time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of pro rata of £24,791 - £25,935 per annum (i.e. £12,395.50 - £12,967.50).

This role is for fixed term period of maternity cover for a maximum of one year, or the return, resignation or replacement of the current post holder, whichever is sooner.

The Assessor Trainer for Education and Childcare Role:

We are recruiting for a part time Assessor Trainer in Childcare and Education to join our friendly T Level team. We are looking for an individual with a desire to make a difference in this important sector.

Key Responsibilities of our Assessor Trainer for Education and Childcare:

  • Supporting the learners development of vocational competence and the wider skills that relate to employability.
  • Training and/or assessing learners within the relevant vocational area to awarding organisation standards in a timely manner.
  • Supporting and/or leading on classroom based activities to extend learners knowledge and understanding of assessment criteria.
  • Agreeing a training programme of development and assessment, setting realistic but challenging goals that meet the learners needs. This will be in collboration with the course team and industry workplacement officer.
  • Actively listening, providing feedback and engaging learners in planning their individualised training programme through coaching and mentoring; supporting the delivery and achievement of additional qualifications as required.
  • Assessing learners competence in relation to work-related/industry standards.

Our ideal Assessor Trainer for Education and Childcare should have the following skills and experience:

  • Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Level 3 (or above for higher and degree apprenticeships) subject sector relevant qualification
  • Relevant and recent vocational experience in the relevant industry sector
  • Experience of using a range of assessment techniques to prepare learners for summative assessment
  • Working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
  • The ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
