Job Title: Assessor/Trainer – Construction (Civil Engineering)
Location: Various College Sites (Cambridge)
Contract: Permanent, Full Year
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Trainer Assessor 1: £29,770 - £31,732 | Trainer Assessor 2: £32,674 - £34,600 (pro-rated if part-time)
Pension: Teachers’ Pension Scheme
Annual Leave: 27 days plus bank holidays

Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated Assessor/Trainer in Construction (Civil Engineering) to provide high-quality coaching, mentoring, and assessment to apprenticeship learners. You will manage learner caseloads, work closely with employers, and support learners through their training and End Point Assessment. This role requires strong vocational knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and flexibility to work across college and employer sites.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and assess apprenticeship learners’ progress and development. Liaise with employers to create learning opportunities and monitor progress. Deliver training sessions and prepare learners for assessments including EPA. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with awarding body standards. Support learners’ wider skills development, safeguarding, and health and safety. Contribute to quality assurance and business development activities.

Requirements
Level 3 vocational qualification in Civil Engineering and Level 3 TAQA or equivalent (Trainer Assessor 2 requires Internal Quality Assurance qualification). Recent relevant vocational and assessor experience. Strong communication, organizational, and IT skills. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and travel between sites.
