Own the Standard. Shape the Future.

Assessment isn’t just about questions and mark schemes—it's about fairness, accuracy, and impact. It’s about getting it right because errors affect real lives.

If you’ve ever thought, “I could improve this exam paper,” this is your chance to make a difference.

At AQA, we produce over 2,000 exam papers and assessment materials annually, sat by hundreds of thousands of students. Behind each is an Assessment Manager ensuring validity, reliability, and fairness.

We offer numerous benefits, including a comprehensive pension scheme (up to 11.5% employer contributions), a 35-hour workweek, 25 days of annual leave plus additional time in December, bank holidays, diverse network groups, extensive online learning, volunteering days, and more. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace where everyone is valued and supported.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of specifications, lead the creation and approval of assessment materials, and ensure all outputs meet high standards—regulatory, academic, and ethical. You will collaborate with senior associates, regulators, and internal teams to ensure our assessments are not only compliant but set industry standards. You may also line manage a team of Assessment Coordinators.

Ideal candidates will be fluent in assessment design, data-savvy, decisive, and excellent communicators. You should be a collaborative, calm presence capable of managing complex situations, with a genuine passion for quality and fairness.

This role is for someone eager to lead from the center, taking ownership of assessments that shape futures. If you’re ready, we want to hear from you.
