Assessment Manager

Part-Time (0.5 FTE, 2.5 days per week). Working days are flexible and can be agreed based on the candidate’s availability.

About the role

The Assessment Manager will take accountability for the coordination, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of all internal and external assessment processes and planning. This role ensures that assessment practices meet regulatory and awarding body requirements, and supports high-quality teaching, learning, and outcomes. This includes oversight of Lead Internal Quality Assurers (Lead IQAs) who are responsible for the day-to-day delivery and monitoring of quality assurance activities within their respective areas.

This role is within EFI Group; however, the primary focus will be to oversee the assessment framework at the London College of Beauty Therapy (LCBT).

About you:

  • Qualifications: You will hold a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent), with relevant Level 3+ vocational qualification in Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, or Hair & Media Make-up, plus Assessor (TAQA) and IQA qualifications.
  • Experience: You will have proven experience in an FE or training environment, industry expertise in Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, or Hair & Media Make-Up, and a strong background in managing assessments and quality assurance.
  • Expertise: You will have a thorough understanding of awarding body requirements (e.g., City & Guilds, VTCT), vocational qualification frameworks, and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive improvement, with the ability to lead and motivate teams including delivering training and standardisation support.
  • Passion: Passionate about vocational education and learner success and committed to high standards of teaching and learning and assessment.

Salary:

From £17,775 to £21,375 per annum (pro rata £35,550 to £42,750 FTE) subject to qualifications and experience
