Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking an Assembly Timber Operative in Ashford. This hands-on role requires experience with hand and power tools as you cut, measure and prepare timber components for a busy production line.

You will operate chop saws and other tooling, measure accurately and follow specifications to maintain quality. The position offers progression potential within a long-standing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with hand and power tools in a production setting.
• Ability to follow measurements and instructions accurately.
• Physically capable of lifting and working in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate chop saws, pull saws and push saws to cut materials.
• Measure and cut materials accurately to spec.
• Use drills, nail guns, screwdrivers and tape measures safely.
• Size, sand and prepare materials for reuse.
• Work as part of a busy production team to meet deadlines.
• Move and handle materials safely within the site.

Assembly Timber Operative

Location: Ashford

Pay: £13.33 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:45pm, Friday: 8:00am - 4:15pm

Own transport is essential due to the remote location of the site.

We are currently recruiting for Assembly Timber Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience using hand and power tools who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is looking for a role that could lead to a permanent position.

The role:

• Using chop saws, pull saws and push saws
• Measuring and cutting materials accurately
• Using a range of hand and power tools, including drills, nail guns, screwdrivers and tape measures
• Resizing, sanding and preparing materials for reuse
• Following instructions and working to measurements
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and to a good standard
• Working as part of a busy production environment
• Handling and moving materials as required

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience using hand and power tools
• Experience working in a production, manufacturing, assembly or similar practical environment
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and measurements accurately
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding role
• Able to lift and move heavier items safely
• Comfortable wearing PPE, including dust masks
• Reliable and committed to regular attendance
• A practical, hand-on approach to work
