Job description

Job Title: Assembly & Test (A&T) Technician
Location: Wolverhampton
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:15, Friday 07:30 - 11:30 (37 hours per week)
Position: Onsite

Shorterm Group is currently recruiting experienced Assembly & Test Technicians for a leading aerospace engineering facility in Wolverhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative, high-performance engineering environment where your skills will directly contribute to the production and repair of flight-critical actuators and systems.

There are openings across both the Original Equipment (OE) production team and the Global Sustainment (GS) repair station.

Key Responsibilities
OE Team:
- Assemble and test complex aerospace actuators and subcomponents to tight tolerances.
- Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges for component inspection.

GS Team:
- Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and survey reports on critical flight hardware.
- Inspect and measure components with high precision instrumentation.

General Duties:
- Work from engineering drawings and component maintenance manuals (CMMs).
- Complete quality audits and assume accountability for parts of the A&T process, including release to service.

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Apprentice trained or equivalent qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment - aerospace sector preferred.
- Skilled in assembly and test operations with the ability to follow structured procedures.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems is an advantage.

Additional Requirements
You must be eligible for BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance to be considered for this role. Inability to obtain clearance may affect your employment eligibility.
