Job description

- Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
- Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Shift Pattern: Permanent Nights (after 3-month training period)
- Shift Hours:
Monday & Tuesday: 8:45 PM - 6:15 AM
Wednesday: 9:00 PM - 6:15 AM
Thursday: 9:15 PM - 6:30 AM
Salary: Competitive + Night Shift Allowance

Shorterm Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Assembly and Test Technician to join an advanced manufacturing site in Tewkesbury, supporting a major player in the aerospace sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a skilled, collaborative team working on high-spec, flight-critical components for commercial aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high-precision assembly and testing of aerospace components and systems.
- Perform diagnostic testing and disassembly for rework and fault rectification.
- Clean parts to specification, complete flow matching operations, and apply finishing processes such as wire locking, labelling, and documentation.
- Work to engineering instructions, quality standards, and approved documentation.
- Maintain ownership of your work through to final inspection - this is a stamp-holder level role.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in a similar production role - ideally in aerospace or precision engineering.
- Proficient in using hand tools, measuring gauges, and diagnostic equipment.
- Comfortable interpreting technical documents, assembly drawings, and quality procedures.
- Either apprentice trained or able to demonstrate equivalent experience and capability.
- Experience with self-inspection and/or holding a company quality stamp is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with servo valve operations is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of 5S/lean manufacturing principles (training can be provided).
