Job summary

Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions in Ballygawley, Northern Ireland, is seeking an Assembly Technician to assemble, fit and test crushing and screening equipment from engineering drawings. You will follow instructions to build safely, accurately and right first time, using hand and power tools while ensuring quality checks are met.

This role operates on a day shift at our Ballygawley facility with clear growth opportunities within a world-leading engineering business.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, maintenance, servicing, repair, installation or manufacturing.
  • Experience working with mechanical systems, components and equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely.
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety and ability to work as part of a team.
  • No formal qualifications are required; however, candidates must be able to accurately interpret work instructions, job sheets and safety documentation

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fit mechanical and hydraulic components in line with engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Carry out inspections, functional checks and testing to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Identify and rectify assembly issues, reporting defects, shortages or technical concerns as required.
  • Complete production records and work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain safe, tidy work areas and comply with all health, safety, environmental and Sandvik quality standards.

About the Role

As an Assembly Technician at Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions in Ballygawley, you will assemble, fit and test our crushing and screening equipment. Working from engineering drawings and instructions, you will ensure products are built safely, accurately and right first time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit mechanical and hydraulic components in line with engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Carry out inspections, functional checks and testing to ensure products meet quality standards.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience assembling crushing, screening or other heavy equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic schematics and bills of materials.
  • Experience in functional testing and continuous improvement
  • On‑site coating shed and manufacturing environment in Ballygawley
  • Day shift, 40 hours per week
  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
