Job summary

Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions in Ballygawley, Northern Ireland seeks an Assembly Technician to assemble, fit and test crushing and screening equipment from engineering drawings. You will join a world‑leading engineering business and contribute to safe, right‑first‑time builds.

The role requires hands‑on experience with mechanical assembly, reading drawings, and safe use of tools. You will work a day shift on site and support quality and safety standards across production lines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, maintenance, servicing, repair, installation or manufacturing.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Assemble and fit mechanical and hydraulic components in line with drawings and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Carry out inspections, functional checks and testing to meet quality standards.
  • Identify and rectify assembly issues and report defects or concerns.
  • Complete production records and collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets.
  • Maintain safe, tidy work areas and comply with health, safety, energy and quality standards.

About the Role

As an Assembly Technician at Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions in Ballygawley, you will assemble, fit and test our crushing and screening equipment. Working from engineering drawings and instructions, you will ensure products are built safely, accurately and right first time. Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit mechanical and hydraulic components in line with engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Carry out inspections, functional checks and testing to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Identify and rectify assembly issues, reporting defects, shortages or technical concerns as required.
  • Complete production records and work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain safe, tidy work areas and comply with all health, safety, environmental and Sandvik quality standards.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Relevant experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, maintenance, servicing, repair, installation or manufacturing.
  • Experience working with mechanical systems, components and equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely.
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety and ability to work as part of a team.
  • No formal qualifications are required; however, candidates must be able to accurately interpret work instructions, job sheets and safety documentation
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience assembling crushing, screening or other heavy equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic schematics and bills of materials.
  • Experience in functional testing and continuous improvement
Work Environment
  • On‑site coating shed and manufacturing environment in Ballygawley
  • Day shift, 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
