Job summary

TE Connectivity in Hastings, United Kingdom, is seeking an Assembly Supervisor to lead a team of assembly staff on site. You will plan daily/weekly work with section leaders, drive performance to achieve targets, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day supervision of staff.
  • Create Daily/Weekly plans with other section leaders to deliver business requirements.
  • Drive team performance to achieve the defined plan.
  • Maintain TE core values and behaviours.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one discussions with team members.
  • Carry out end of year appraisals and goal setting.
  • Ensure work completed on time and to standard.
  • Contribute to delivering KPI targets: Delivery on Time, efficiency, Earned Hours.
  • Assist with quality investigations to determine root causes.
  • Identify development needs and plan training solutions.
  • Host team reviews and manage communication boards.
  • Report KPI results and propose improvements.
  • Uphold company procedures and safety regulations.
  • Be able to deputise in supervision when needed.

To assist the Production Supervisor in achieving all departmental performance criteria, including training and development of Operators. To lead a designated team of assembly staff who will report to the team leader.

What you will do
  • Day to day supervision of staff.

  • In conjunction with other Section Leaders, create Daily/ Weekly plans that deliver the business requirements for the area

  • Drive the performance of the team to achieve the defined plan.

  • Display and ensure all team members always display TE’s core values and behaviours.

  • Hold and record regular effective one to one’s with team members.

  • Carry out end of year appraisals and goal setting in line with TE policy.

  • Ensure that your own and the teams work is finished on time and to the correct standard.

  • To contribute to achieving departmental targets – specifically ‘Delivery on Time’ and efficiency and Earned Hours

  • When required to be part of the team to assist with quality investigations and reviews to determine true root cause of defects, using appropriate tools and methodologies.

  • Identify development needs within the area, and with the support of the Supervisor, organise and plan training solutions accordingly.

  • Host team reviews and manage team communication boards, to include reporting to supervisor.

  • To be accountable for the team’s Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets, communicate these with the team members, and feedback with potential solutions when not on target.

  • Ensure company procedures and policies are upheld.

  • To ensure health and safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation are adhered to.

  • To deputise in the absence of supervision.

  • To support other teams when required.

  • Liaise with other departments and managers when required.

  • Liaise with the maintenance department regarding machine breakdowns and repairs.

  • When required, to carry out/be part of a team on TEOA/KAISAN activities.

  • Ensure 5S is maintained to the standards required.

  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time.

  • To adopt and sustain a flexible and proactive approach in all departmental work activities.

  • To work to the departmental fundamental rules.

  • To ensure a positive attitude and good team working is encouraged and supported.
