Job summary

Emerson Ltd is seeking a hands-on manufacturing operative in Manchester to perform machining, assembly, testing, and process improvements. You will work closely with Engineering and Quality teams, interpret sales orders, and maintain accurate production records while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

A Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship and a detail-focused, flexible, self-motivated attitude are essential. Valve assembly experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Time served with Level 3 apprenticeship in Engineering.
• Attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable for cross-functional training.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out machining and assembly of products in line with standard operating procedures and relevant standards.
• Carrying out testing of products to specified product methods and in line with standards and health and safety requirements.
• Interpreting sales order requirements correctly.
• Collaborating with Engineering and Quality teams on manufacturing quality issues.
• Ensuring tools/machines used are fit for purpose and reporting problems to supervision.
• Carrying out improvements in line with the company's continuous improvement program.
• Working within Health and Safety guidelines and using PPE correctly.
• Keeping production records up to date.
• Showing flexibility to work in other parts of production as required.
• Taking an active role in Perfect Execution activities.
• Following all company policies and procedures in carrying out the role.
• A capability to handle complex tasks and a positive can-do attitude.
• Valve assembly experience is desirable but not essential.

Job description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Carrying out machining and assembly of products in line with standard operating procedures and relevant standards.
• Carrying out testing of products to specified product methods and in line with standards and health and safety requirements.
• Ensuring sales order requirements are interpreted correctly
• Collaborating closely with your team leader and other personnel such as Engineering and Quality team members on quality issues arising from manufacturing.
• Ensuring that all tools/machines used are fit for purpose and reporting any problems to Supervision.
• Recommending and carrying out any improvements in line with the company's continuous improvement program.
• Working at all time within Health and Safety guidelines, including the accurate use of PPE.
• Keeping accurate and up to date production records
• Showing flexibility and working in other parts of the production areas as required.
• Taking an active role in Perfect Execution activities where required.
• Being aware of and following all company policies and procedures in carrying out the role
  You have the capability to efficiently and accurately handle complex tasks. You are self motivated with a positive can-do attitude., To be time served (successfully completed a Level 3 apprenticeship) within an Engineering environment

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
