• Technically minded with a mechanical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul and recondition railway battery systems.
• Assist fault-finding, troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Maintain assembly and calibration records and documentation.
• Assemble, wire and connect electrical equipment and railway battery systems.
• Work in a team to achieve required orders.
• Carry out training and upskilling on procedures.
• Use a variety of tools.
• Use the company van to travel to sites and deliver parts for engineers.
• Comply with UK standards and quality requirements.
• Keep a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our longstanding clients that are part of a global network specialising in the production, and distribution of industrial batteries and energy storage solutions.

Location: ST5 (Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent)

Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay rate: £13.20 per hour.

Hours: Monday to Thursday (08:00 to 16:30) Friday (08:00 to 15:00) - 39 hours a week standard, with the possibility of overtime through the week and on the weekend paid at T1/2.

The role:

• Overhauling / reconditioning of railway battery systems.
• Assist in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and minor repair work on products.
• Maintain assembly and calibration records and documentation.
• Assembly, wiring and connections of electrical equipment and railway battery systems.
• Working within a team to achieve required orders.
• Carry out training/upskilling on relevant procedures and areas.
• Using a variety of different tools.
• Using the company van to drive to sites and deliver parts needed for engineers
• Comply with relevant UK standards and adhere to quality requirements.
• Keep a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

• Background in mechanical assembly work or similar engineering environment is desirable
• Best suited to someone with a technical or mechanical mindset.
• Must have a valid UK driving license
