Job summary

TRCGroup is seeking a hands-on engineer for a temp-to-perm role in ST5 (Newcastle-under-Lyme). You will overhaul/recondition railway battery systems, assist fault-finding and minor repairs, and maintain documentation.

The position involves assembly, wiring, and site visits using the company van, with adherence to UK standards and a focus on quality and safety. The role requires a mechanical/engineering background and a valid UK driving license.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical assembly work or similar engineering environment is desirable.
• Best suited to someone with a technical or mechanical mindset.
• Must have a valid UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Overhauling / reconditioning of railway battery systems.
• Assist in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and minor repair work on products.
• Maintain assembly and calibration records and documentation.
• Assembly, wiring and connections of electrical equipment and railway battery systems.
• Work within a team to achieve required orders.
• Carry out training/upskilling on relevant procedures and areas.
• Using a variety of different tools.
• Use company van to drive to sites and deliver parts needed for engineers.
• Comply with relevant UK standards and adhere to quality requirements.
• Keep a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
