Job description

Assembly Operative

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Assembly Operative to join a friendly team based in Littleborough, nr Rochdale. The successful candidate will earn at least NMW of £12.21ph (April 25) up to £13.50 per hour depending on experience.

Hours of work will be 39.5 hours per week on flexi-time.

Role Requirements

  • Previous experience of working within a factory/assembly, doing some electrical assembly/wiring, is essential while soldering experience would be an advantage.
  • Fast learner. Able to work independently and organise their own workload.
  • Show initiative in finding more lean/efficient ways to operate.
  • Experience of working with other machines is an advantage.
  • Willing to learn how to operate other machinery.

Role Responsibilities

  • Follow drawings, instructions and works orders.
  • Use a variety of hand tools.
  • Undertake manual handling duties to assemble devices and looms.
  • Cutting, preparation and termination of various cables/connectors.
  • Use of specific cutting, stripping, crimping semi-automatic machines.
  • Testing of assemblies at various stages.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and a quality-driven approach.
  • Soldering of cables to PCBs, PCB rework.
  • Plastic moulding machine operation.
  • Carry out your duties as requested by Team Leaders and Senior Management.
  • Work at a good speed.
  • Ensure the work area is kept tidy at all times.
  • Be aware of and work to high quality standards.
  • Understand and work in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy.

Company

Our client is a small company of approximately 25 staff, specialising in producing electrical & electronic sub-assemblies to the Industrial Vehicle market, from bodybuilders to integrators, distributors, and end-users.

Based in Littleborough on the scenic outskirts of Rochdale, bordering Yorkshire.
