We are hiring for our client, a market-leading manufacturer in the heavy engineering sector, who are seeking an experienced Assembly Operative to join their high-performing Operations and Supply Chain team. Based in their modern production facility, this role involves the assembly, disassembly, and preparation of large, heavy-duty processing equipment used in demanding industrial environments. The successful Assembly Operative will play a vital part in ensuring safe, accurate, and on-time equipment delivery working to high quality standards within a safety-first culture.

Involves assembly of heavy processing equipment used across industrial sectors
Team-focused, safety-led working environment with scope for progression
Assemble and disassemble large mechanical assemblies and sub-systems following technical drawings
Safely use overhead cranes, manual tools, and battery-powered hand tools
Prepare equipment for secure transport, ensuring quality standards are met
Perform visual and functional quality checks, resolving any defects prior to dispatch
Maintain excellent housekeeping and comply with all health & safety procedures
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
Support a culture of continuous improvement in your area of work
Minimum of 2 years’ mechanical assembly experience, ideally within heavy engineering or industrial equipment manufacturing
GCSEs Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Able to read and interpret engineering/technical drawings with confidence
Skilled in using hand tools and workshop equipment
Desirable: Valid forklift licence, slinger signaller training, overhead crane certification
Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset
Committed to safety, quality, and effective teamwork
