Assembly & Machine Operative

Salary: Up to £15.50ph
Location: Near Uxbridge, Buckinghamshire
Hours: Mon–Thurs 08:00–17:00 / Fri 08:00–Midday (37 hours per week)
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Permanent

Are you confident reading engineering drawings and operating workshop machinery that requires co-ordinate input? Do you have experience assembling mechanical components to tight tolerances? If so, this could be a great opportunity to join a respected engineering company near Uxbridge.
You’ll be working on precision pipework and assemblies used in safety-critical applications, playing a key part in the wider production process.

Assembly & Machine Operative Responsibilities:
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and build instructions
  • Operating machinery (e.g., pipe benders, presses, saws) by inputting co-ordinates or dimensions
  • Assembling metallic components using adhesives, fixtures, and handheld tools
  • Performing visual checks and ensuring parts conform to spec
  • Logging progress and traceability info using SAP (ERP system)
  • Working to SOPs and maintaining high quality and safety standards
Assembly & Machine Operative Requirements:
  • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Experience operating workshop machinery using co-ordinate/dimensional input
  • Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing, piping, or precision engineering environment
  • Strong attention to detail and manual handling skills
  • Comfortable using workshop tools such as drills, saws, and pipe benders
  • Basic computer skills – any ERP experience (SAP ideal) is a plus
