Job Title: Crushing and Screening Fitter
Job Purpose: The Crushing and Screening Fitter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing crushing and screening equipment used in construction, mining, and quarry operations. This includes troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, ensuring equipment runs efficiently, and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on crushing and screening machinery. Repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on crushing and screening plant equipment.
- Installation & Commissioning: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new crushing and screening equipment. Ensure equipment is installed in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations. Perform risk assessments and hazard identification before work.
- Equipment Inspection & Reporting: Conduct regular inspections to identify wear, damage, or failures. Complete inspection reports and suggest repairs or parts replacements. Maintain maintenance records and equipment history.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Respond to breakdowns and repair equipment on-site or in the workshop. Collaborate with engineers and management on complex issues.
- Customer Interaction: Provide technical support to customers and assist in training site personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in maintenance and repair of crushing and screening machinery. Experience in mining, quarry, or construction industries preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to interpret manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Proficient with diagnostic tools and hand tools.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., IOSH) preferred. Valid driver’s license (may require site travel).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in challenging environments and perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Personal Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with specific brands/types of crushing and screening equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
