Job Title: Crushing and Screening Fitter

Job Purpose: The Crushing and Screening Fitter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing crushing and screening equipment used in construction, mining, and quarry operations. This includes troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, ensuring equipment runs efficiently, and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on crushing and screening machinery. Repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on plant equipment.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Assist in installing and commissioning new equipment, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct risk assessments and hazard identifications before work.
  • Equipment Inspection & Reporting: Conduct inspections, complete reports, and maintain maintenance records.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Respond to breakdowns, repair equipment, and collaborate with engineers on complex issues.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide technical support and assist in training site personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in maintenance and repair of crushing and screening machinery; mining, quarry, or construction experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, reading technical manuals, using diagnostic tools.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering; safety certifications (e.g., IOSH) preferred; valid driver's license.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in challenging environments; physically fit for manual labor.
