Job summary

Haith Group, a leading UK manufacturer of advanced machinery for handling, washing, grading and packing vegetables, is seeking an Assembly Fitter to join its production team in Doncaster. You will assemble complex machinery to exacting standards using drawings, hand and power tools, and precision measuring equipment.

The role offers opportunities to work on industry-leading products, with training in crane operations, and progression within a skilled engineering environment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualifications preferred.
• Apprentice-trained or demonstrable hands-on experience in mechanical assembly.
• Bench fitting or mechanical fitting certification a plus.
• Working knowledge of safe operating procedures.
• Confidence using overhead cranes (training provided).
• Proficiency in welding is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Experience within machinery manufacturing, engineering, or industrial production environments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble agricultural and industrial machinery using technical drawings and specifications
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices
• Configure equipment based on the materials used in construction
• Perform routine equipment checks and ensure proper setup
• Follow health and safety regulations and wear required PPE
• Conduct quality inspections to meet production standards
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Collaborate effectively with fellow engineers and trade professionals
