Job Title: Crushing and Screening Fitter

Job Purpose:

The Crushing and Screening Fitter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing crushing and screening equipment used in construction, mining, and quarry operations. This includes troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, ensuring equipment runs efficiently, and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on crushing and screening machinery. Repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose faults.
  2. Installation & Commissioning: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compliance with standards.
  3. Safety & Compliance: Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct risk assessments and hazard identifications.
  4. Equipment Inspection & Reporting: Conduct inspections, complete reports, and maintain maintenance records.
  5. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Respond to breakdowns, repair on-site or in workshops, and collaborate with engineers.
  6. Customer Interaction: Provide technical support and assist in training site personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  1. Experience: Minimum 3 years in maintenance and repair of crushing and screening machinery, preferably in mining, quarry, or construction.
  2. Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, ability to read technical manuals and schematics, proficient with diagnostic tools.
  3. Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field; relevant health and safety certifications preferred; valid driver’s license.
  4. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in challenging environments, physically fit for manual labor.
  5. Personal Skills: Strong problem-solving, independent and team work, excellent communication.
  6. Desirable Skills: Experience with specific equipment brands, knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
