Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manual assembly of mechanical parts and semiconductors from technical drawings, including electrical wiring and hydraulic connections.
  • Using simple hand and machine tools, including soldering processes.
  • Attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • Booking work through the JDE computer system, and other general computer tasks.
  • Ensuring jobs are completed on time and in full to customer deadlines.
  • Respecting and embracing all aspects of the LFOS and Lean Six Sigma programmes.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ONC in BTEC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 GCSE including Maths and English grade 3(D) or higher.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Previous assembly / workshop experience, including wiring, hydraulic fitting & soldering.
  • Ability to fully understand and read technical drawings, including electrical schematics & wiring diagrams.
  • Keen Interest in mechanical engineering.
  • Good team player who is flexible, able to work under own initiative and possess good communication skills.
  • Experience of working to production deadlines, with a can-do attitude.
  • Familiar with working within quality principles and standards.
  • General computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, email, Windows applications, etc.
  • Full British Driving Licence, as some off-site work may be required.
