Are you interested in supporting children in challenging communities? Would you like to help change the lives of young people at risk of crime? Do you want to develop your experience mentoring young people to make positive decisions?
If the answer is yes, then this graduate job offers a great platform to kick start your career by gaining valuable experience working with at-risk young people facing complex social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
A fantastic school in Swindon is looking for a graduate (Criminology or Psychology would be relevant!) to work as a Learning Support Assistant from Monday to Friday, starting immediately or in September. The school caters to pupils with social and emotional difficulties, challenging behaviors, and low self-esteem. You will play a key role in helping students make positive choices, guiding their behavior, and increasing their engagement both inside and outside the classroom.
In this role, you will work with students facing needs such as anxiety, social withdrawal, anger issues, trauma, grief, and social difficulties. The school seeks an empathetic individual interested in helping others, ready for a challenge, and interested in SEMH difficulties.
By working both 1:1 and in group settings with these vulnerable students, you will gain experience necessary for careers in Youth Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Services, or Teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to build confidence working with challenging behavior and mental health issues.
