Aspiring Youth Justice Worker - Milton Keynes

Position Overview

We are seeking an aspiring Youth Justice Worker for a specialist provision in Milton Keynes, working with children aged 7-19 who have experienced significant trauma, social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This role is ideal for graduates in Criminology and Psychology, particularly those interested in pursuing a career in youth justice or clinical psychology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through holistic and restorative practices.
  2. Engage with students to foster empathy and positive behavior, minimizing punitive measures.
  3. Assist in creating a safe and supportive environment, ensuring student safety and well-being.
  4. Participate in a practical trial day to assess suitability for the role.
  5. Provide support tailored to students with diverse needs, including Autism, OCD, social anxiety, and other EHCPs.
  6. Implement and support therapeutic interventions, including therapies introduced by the school.
  7. Contribute to students' independence and progress, especially those in assisted living settings.
Training and Support

All necessary training, including SEN, safeguarding, MAPA, and manual handling, will be provided by the school. Additional training on holistic and therapeutic approaches will support your development in this role.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Interest in youth justice, clinical psychology, or related fields.
  • Ability to work pragmatically with physical and behavioral challenges.
  • Willingness to engage with children displaying anti-social behaviors and complex needs.
  • Availability to start ASAP or upon completion of current commitments.
