Job summary

Oakwood School, part of The Mercian Trust, seeks two Apprentice Teaching Assistants Level 2 to work with children aged 3–15 with complex needs. You will support learning, assist staff, and follow safeguarding practices while building ICT and classroom skills.

Reporting to the Head of School, you’ll develop professionally in a nurturing environment that values progression, teamwork and high standards of attendance and conduct.

Qualifications

• Be fully supportive of the inclusive ethos of the school.
• Be willing to learn and develop through the Apprenticeship Level 2.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with children.
• Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Maintain an excellent health and attendance record.
• Have sound ICT skills and be adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Support learning activities and assist in classrooms under supervision.
• Help pupils with tasks and manage materials to support progression.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and reporting.
• Maintain safe, welcoming learning environment.
