Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist - Addlestone - Graduates and Trainees - Special Needs - SEN - SALT - ASD - Surrey

Are you an outstanding Graduate looking to gain experience before pursuing a career as a Speech and Language Therapist?

Are you motivated by supporting and helping children to reach their full potential?

Look no further, as we have a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School near Addlestone for children with additional learning needs. Most children have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis.

This school are looking for a passionate and committed Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work at a school for children aged 4-16. You will be supporting a small class of 7-10 students, working in partnership with the school's teaching staff, therapists and support staff team to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development and language acquisition.

As an Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), and deliver interventions to children with speech, language and communicational needs both in a small group and 1:1. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career as a Speech and Language Therapist.

Job role and responsibilities of Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
  • Personal care support
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD

Experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN.

**Start date ASAP**Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students**£89-£100 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-4pm, term time only**No previous experience is required**If you have a degree, it's an excellent use of your degree - for graduates and trainees **You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship**Must be able to travel to Addlestone and surrounding areas
