Job Description:

This entry-level role is ideal for Psychology graduates passionate about demonstrating the value of education to children with additional needs. Supporting children aged 4-17 with mild to moderate learning difficulties, you will work closely with vulnerable children and specialist therapy teams to gain relevant experience before pursuing a teaching career.

Career progression routes include becoming a Special Needs Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or pursuing Child Psychology and Educational Psychology routes.

Personal qualities required include:

  • Passion for helping children achieve their potential
  • Ability to build confidence and motivation
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with students
  • Calmness and resilience in stressful situations
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener

Professional skills and requirements include:

  • Preparing resources for teaching and learning
  • Planning activities suited to student abilities with support
  • Providing personal and medical care, including feeding and manual handling
  • Willingness to work 1:1 and in small groups
  • Developing knowledge to deliver appropriate support
  • Encouraging social skills and supporting individual needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Providing behaviour and pastoral support
  • Attending staff meetings and completing CPD
  • Ensuring safeguarding of students

Start date: ASAP / September 2024
Work schedule: 5 days a week (Mon-Fri)
Salary: £80-£117 per day
No previous experience required
Training, support, and CPD provided
Must have the right to work in the UK; no Visa sponsorship
