Aspiring School Psychologist – Primary School

Are you a psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a primary school setting? Do you have a passion for supporting children with SEN and additional learning needs? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

About the Role:
A fantastic primary school in east London is seeking an Aspiring School-Based Psychologist to join their team. This role is ideal for a psychology graduate who is looking to develop their skills and gain practical experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN). You will support pupils with their emotional, social, and behavioural development, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support children with SEN and additional learning needs in a classroom setting.
  2. Work 1:1 and in small groups to provide targeted interventions.
  3. Assist in implementing behaviour and learning support strategies.
  4. Observe and assess children’s emotional and social development.
  5. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress.

Requirements:

  1. A psychology degree (essential).
  2. Experience working with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  3. Experience working with children (preferred).
  4. A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach.
  5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
