Job Advert: Aspiring School-Based Psychologist – Full-Time Opportunity
Location: Camden, London
Start Date: September 2025 (Potential for earlier start before summer holidays)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: Dependent on experience

Are you a Psychology graduate or aspiring Educational Psychologist eager to gain hands-on experience in a school setting?

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join a supportive school in Camden as an Aspiring School-Based Psychologist. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong academic background in psychology who is looking to work closely with students, SEN teams, and pastoral staff before pursuing further professional training.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A degree in Psychology or related field (or be working towards one)
  • A genuine interest in child development, educational psychology, and mental health
  • Some experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or support setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one before the start date)
Role Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Assisting with assessments, observations, and targeted interventions under the guidance of SENCOs and pastoral teams
  • Contributing to individual education and behaviour support plans
  • Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and external agencies
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support their wellbeing and academic progress

This is a fantastic stepping stone for those aiming to pursue a career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or mental health support roles within education.
