Are you a recent psychology graduate looking to gain experience in the mental health field before becoming a certified psychologist? This Aspiring Mental Health Worker role is ideal for you.

A SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school near Oxford is seeking a confident and empathetic Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team in a long-term capacity. The school values excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with a caring and positive attitude.

The school educates children aged 5 to 18 with various SEMH needs, including anxiety, depression, OCD, developmental delays, and trauma. You should be understanding, resilient, and ready for a challenge. As a recent graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology, you will apply your knowledge to support students' mental health and development.

Your duties will include working closely with small groups of students to support their academic and emotional growth, managing classroom behavior, and creating a safe and engaging environment under the guidance of the class teacher. You'll also assist children in developing social skills and build trusting relationships.

This role offers the chance to shadow professionals like the Educational Psychologist, Speech & Language Therapist, and SENCO, providing valuable experience for those aspiring to careers in Psychology, Criminology, Therapy, Counselling, or Criminal Justice.
