Motus Commercials is inviting applications for a Trainee Service & Maintenance Technician programme at Carlisle, Dumfries or Penrith. The two-year training path develops diagnostic, servicing and workshop skills under experienced Technicians.

You will gain hands-on experience, attend DAF Trucks training, and aim for IRTEC certification while building a long-term career in the commercial vehicle sector.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and eager to learn in a structured two-year programme.
• Good communication and willingness to learn from qualified technicians.
• Logical, methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Keen interest in mechanical engineering and commercial vehicles.
• Proactive with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose vehicle faults and carry out diagnostics under supervision.
• Assist with routine servicing and maintenance inspections.
• Work towards full vehicle inspections and IRTEC qualification.
• Attend manufacturer training courses delivered by DAF Trucks.
• Develop understanding of safe working practices and workshop procedures.
• Build skills to service, maintain and repair commercial vehicles safely.
