Aspiring Forensic Psychologist – Learning Support Assistant Reading
Ideal for graduates with aspirations in Forensic Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or Probation Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support emotional and behavioural growth
Helping pupils to regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies
Providing 1:1 and small group support across academic and therapeutic sessions
Supporting students at risk of exclusion or disengagement from education
Assisting teachers in lesson delivery and classroom management
Using restorative practices and trauma-informed approaches to manage conflict
Encouraging life skills, independence, and resilience in a nurturing environment
What We’re Looking For in Reading:
Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Youth & Community Work, or a related field
Candidates with relevant experience in youth work, mentoring, or care settings are also encouraged to apply
A sincere motivation to work with vulnerable children and young people
A calm, resilient, and empathetic attitude, especially when dealing with challenging behaviours
A passion for social justice, rehabilitation, and inclusive education
Experience with SEMH or neurodivergent learners is beneficial but not essential – full training is provided
