Salary: From £101.40 per day

Aspiring Criminal Justice Officer – Learning Support Assistant Reading

Education and Training

What You’ll Be Doing

As an LSA, you’ll support children and young people (ages 4–18) with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), including ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and neurodivergence. You’ll work within a therapeutic, restorative education model where relationships come first.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups (class sizes of 4–12)
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and build resilience
  • Using restorative approaches to guide behaviour and encourage engagement
  • Assisting reintegration into education or the community
  • Collaborating with therapists and staff to deliver holistic support

What We’re Looking For

  • Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, Youth Work, Social Sciences (or non-graduates with relevant experience)
  • A sincere interest in social justice and supporting neurodivergent students
  • Calm, empathetic, and proactive communication style
  • Strong belief in the power of restorative practice and trauma-informed care
  • Experience with children or young people is an advantage, but not essential—full training is provided
