Job summary

Toppesfield is seeking experienced Machine Lay Surfacing Gangs and Asphalt Operatives to join our Derby site operations team. You’ll deliver machine and hand lay surfacing across highways, aviation, commercial and infrastructure projects, focusing on safety, quality and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid CSCS card, relevant plant operator tickets and a Full UK driving licence. You’ll have proven asphalt surfacing experience and a strong commitment to health and safety with good

Qualifications

• CSCS card is required.
• Plant operator tickets relevant to site operations.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Proven experience in asphalt surfacing on-site.
• Strong health and safety awareness and practices.
• Good communication skills for team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Delivering machine and hand lay surfacing across a variety of projects.
• Laying, levelling and compacting asphalt materials.
• Operating paving and compacting equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
• Working to daily programmes and production targets.
• Following Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) procedures.

Role Description

Due to the continued growth of our business, we’re looking for experienced and motivated Machine Lay Surfacing Gangs and Asphalt Operatives to join our Site Operations team in Derby, as we deliver high-quality projects across a variety of sectors, including highways, aviation, commercial and major infrastructure.

As a member of a surfacing gang, you will work as part of a skilled team consisting of a Foreman, Plant Operators and Asphalt Operatives, and play a key role in delivering asphalt surfacing works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Delivering machine and hand lay surfacing across a variety of projects
• Laying, levelling and compacting asphalt materials
• Operating paving and compacting equipment safely and effectively
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality
• Working to daily programmes and production targets
