Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant - Aseptic Services at Whiston Hospital, Prescot. The post is NHS AfC Band 3 with duties including aseptic preparation under GMP, stock control, and liaison with ward staff to ensure safe delivery of injectable products.

The role requires working in a sterile environment, use of isolators and protective clothing, and adherence to SOPs. A supportive team and comprehensive NHS training are offered.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 Pharmacy Services qualification is required.
• Aseptic preparation training with GMP knowledge is essential.
• Experience with hospital pharmacy systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing aseptically prepared products under GMP and SOPs.
• Use isolators, syringes, needles and protective clothing in a restricted environment.
• Assist in receipt of prescriptions and stock rotation within the ADU.
• Prepare and assemble aseptically prepared injectable products for wards.
• Attend ward visits and liaise with ward staff and pharmacists.
