Job description

ASD Tutor Role

Based in London, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Tutor to support a KS1 student with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and PDA. This role begins in September and offers 30 hours per week of meaningful, one-to-one teaching in London.

Role Details:
  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Pay: £30 per hour
About the Role:
  • Provide personalized, one-to-one tuition across the KS1 curriculum in a nurturing and flexible manner.
  • Work in London in a non-school setting.
  • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to the student's individual needs, interests, and learning style.
  • Adapt resources to suit the student's PDA profile.
  • Build a trusting relationship to encourage engagement.
About the Student:

The student is autistic with a PDA profile, experiencing high anxiety around daily demands, requiring a flexible, relationship-based approach. They thrive in a collaborative, low-demand, emotionally safe learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working with SEN children, especially those with autism (ASD).
  • Confident in planning and adapting lessons according to KS1 learning objectives.
  • Calm, empathetic, and responsive to the child's cues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements:
  • Experience in SEN, tutoring, or teaching, particularly with autism.
  • Good understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
  • QTS or equivalent qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
