ASD Teacher (Secondary School)

Location: Newcastle

Start: September 2024

Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time

GSL Education’s Newcastle branch is looking for a compassionate and dedicated ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Teacher to join our secondary school team in Newcastle.

Job summary:

As an ASD Teacher , you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to secondary school students with autism. Your role will involve creating individualized learning plans and helping students develop essential academic and life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualized lessons tailored to the specific needs of students with autism.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with ASD.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor when dealing with challenging behaviors.
  • Resilience and adaptability in responding to the diverse needs of students.
  • An updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
