Qualifications

  • Expérience de travail avec des enfants ayant des besoins d'éducation spéciaux (principalement ASD).
  • Être proactif, engagé, résilient et fiable.
  • Souhait d'offrir un soutien aux soins personnels des élèves.

Responsibilities

ASD/SEN Teaching Assistant - The Alton School
About Us

36 hours per week subject to negotiation

Term time only (39 weeks per year)

Contract Permanent

Start Date September 2025

If so, you why not join our ASD resource base which opened in October 2023?

The Alton is an inclusive inner London primary school situated next to Richmond Park. In October 2023 we set up a new ASD resource base to provide a supportive education for students with autism.

Your main priorities will be to support a small specialist provision class tailored to young people on the autistic spectrum, working with them to ensure their educational and emotional needs are met and promoting positive behaviour in a nurturing environment. You will establish professional relationships with the new pupils and their families as well as with other staff in the school. You will promote an inclusive culture and where appropriate support students to mix socially with students from the wider school community.

You will need:

  • A great personality and good enthusiasm
  • Experience supporting SEN (especially ASD) children.
  • Experience in an education setting (Primary age range Preferable).
  • To be proactive, committed, resilient and reliable.
  • Knowledge of Makaton and Physical restraint training – E.G. Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE is desirable, but training can be arranged.
  • Willingness to provide personal self-care support to pupils
