Job summary

Academics in Reading is seeking an ASD Assistant to support students with ASD in a specialist secondary SEN school. This role is ideal for psychology graduates aiming to gain hands-on experience in education or therapy.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help with communication, emotional regulation, and independence, and work with teachers to foster a positive learning environment. Start ASAP, full-time, £93-£110 per day, 8:30am-3:30pm.

Qualifications

• A psychology degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in ASD, SEN, psychology, or education.
• Calm, patient, and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with ASD.
• Support communication, emotional regulation, and independence.
• Build positive relationships and encourage learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to create a supportive environment.
