Job summary

SGS in the United Kingdom is recruiting an Asbestos Surveyor to perform asbestos surveys and sampling at client sites nationwide. You will record findings accurately and provide practical advice to help clients meet legal and safety responsibilities, with most initial work on domestic properties.

You will assess identified risks, advise on safe management or removal, and support clients to maintain compliance while coordinating with project teams for timely reporting and on-site issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Technically knowledgeable with a professional approach.
• Able to travel to client sites and work independently.
• Experience in asbestos risk assessment and client advisory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct asbestos surveys, safely sample suspect materials, and accurately record findings in line with job instructions and internal procedures.
• Assess identified asbestos risks, advise clients on appropriate removal or safe management, and provide ongoing support to maintain compliance.
• Collaborate closely with clients and project teams, ensuring effective communication, timely reporting, and resolution of any on-site issues.

• Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week - Paid overtime
• Salary: from £38,000 pa DOE & Company Vehicle

Join SGS as an Asbestos Surveyor, carrying out asbestos surveys and sampling at client sites across the UK. You’ll provide accurate, practical advice to help clients manage asbestos risks and meet their legal and safety responsibilities. Essential Qualifications / Experience

• RSPH Level 3 Certificate in Asbestos Surveying OR P402 Qualification
• Full Driving License for use in the UK
• Minimum 6 months relevant work experience in Asbestos Surveying
