Job summary

Lucion Services Ltd. is seeking an Asbestos Surveyor for a field-based role around Bishop’s Stortford, covering Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Essex and surrounding areas. You’ll work across commercial, residential and public-sector sites delivering accurate surveys and reporting.

The role emphasizes professional judgement, attention to detail and compliance with HSG264 and related regulations, with occasional travel and independent work in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• BOHS P402 or equivalent qualification (or Certificate of Competence).
• Strong knowledge of HSG264 and related guidance.
• Full UK manual driving licence; willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all disciplines of asbestos surveying and inspection (Management, Refurbishment and Demolition surveys; asbestos in the ground).
• Travel across Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Essex to client sites.
• Collect accurate site data with a phablet and produce high-quality reports using NexGen.
• Work in line with asbestos legislation and guidance (HSG264, HSE requirements).
• Maintain personal QHSE documentation and internal assurance processes.
• Provide a professional and friendly service to clients, answering questions and offering clear advice.
• Communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and contractors; surveying is more than just sampling.
• Deliver accurate, consistent work without shortcuts.
• Be reliable and professional in all site activities.

Education

BOHS P402 / RSPH equivalent qualification or Certificate of Competence

Knowledge of HSG264 (The Survey Guide)

We’re now looking for an Asbestos Surveyor to join our growing Hazardous Materials team, based around Bishop’s Stortford.

What You’ll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)

This is a proper hands-on surveying role. You’ll be out and about across Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Essex and the surrounding area, working across a mix of commercial, residential, public-sector and construction sites.

Your attention to detail will directly support safer buildings, informed decision-making and compliant project delivery.

• Carry out all disciplines of asbestos surveying and inspection, including Management, Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys, plus asbestos in the ground.
• Travel across Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire to visit client sites.
• Collect accurate factual and numerical site data using a phablet device, producing high-quality reports through our award-winning NexGen system.
• Work in line with all relevant asbestos legislation and guidance, including HSG264, HSE requirements and construction regulations.
• Maintain your personal QHSE documentation and follow our internal assurance processes.
• Provide a professional and friendly service to clients, answering questions and offering clear advice and interpretation where needed.
• Communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and contractors — because good surveying is about more than just collecting samples.
• Deliver accurate, consistent work without taking shortcuts.

About You

You understand that asbestos surveying comes with responsibility — and you take that responsibility seriously.

You’ll Ideally

• Hold BOHS P402, an RSPH equivalent qualification, or a Certificate of Competence.
• Have a good working knowledge of HSG264 (The Survey Guide).
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• Be based in or around Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Essex or the surrounding area.
• Be comfortable travelling around the local area and occasionally further afield.
• Be flexible when occasional out-of-hours work is required.
• Be confident working independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
• Bring a strong work ethic and a practical, professional approach to site work.
• Be someone clients and colleagues can rely on.
• Basically, you know your stuff, you care about doing a good job and you don’t need someone standing over your shoulder to make sure it gets done properly.
