Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a dedicated and experienced Asbestos Compliance Officer to join our team, based at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring asbestos compliance within the Capital and Estates Directorate.
Reporting to the Head of Assets, Governance, and Technical Services, the post holder will be responsible for all aspects of asbestos compliance. Overseeing asbestos contractors to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards. Management of asbestos surveys to identify and assess asbestos-containing materials.
Preparing detailed specifications for tender/quotation processes related to asbestos removal. Reviewing and preparing comprehensive asbestos risk assessments and method statements. Performing regular asbestos inspections, managing and maintaining the asbestos register, assisting with other Capital and Estates compliance matters as needed and managing the provision of asbestos awareness training to staff and contractors.
Qualifications and Skills:
Significant experience as an asbestos analyst.
Educated to Master's Degree level or possess equivalent knowledge and experience in relation to asbestos and asbestos analysis.
P402 surveying, P406 supervisory.
Possess a high level of understanding of asbestos legislation, and compliance issues relating to asbestos.
Good understanding of asbestos policy and safety procedures.
