Purpose Of Job

Responsible for the day-to-day management of projects, including project execution, team coordination, and risk management, with a focus on preventing scope creep. The primary objective is to ensure that projects are delivered on time, meet the agreed-upon brief, and fulfil client expectations while maintaining or improving budgeted margins. PM collaborates across internal departments - from Art and Design to Production and Install

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Internal Coordination:Project managers are the primary point of contact for internal team members once the project is live.
  • Project Planning:Responsible for detailed internal project plans, milestone Gantt charts, allocation of project resources, setting deadlines, and budgets. This includes preparing and coordinating project costings, issuing timely quotations to clients, and maintaining accurate project data entry and database housekeeping.
  • Team Leadership:Lead the internal team through project completion, ensuring every project is delivered on time, within budget, and scope. This includes managing third parties/vendors and overseeing artwork installation on client premises, in collaboration with the logistics department and installation technicians.
  • Risk Management:Identify and manage potential risks to the project timeline and budget. Conduct site meetings and surveys to refine quotations, specifications, and artwork proposals, and prepare risk assessments or method statements as required.
  • Communication and Project Pulse:Implement effective communication channels and measure project progress and performance. Monitor and act on changes in project scope, schedule, and costs. Manage internal communication protocols, including chairing meetings, taking and distributing notes and actions, and regularly updating all changes on the specification document. Report to the line manager and escalateissues as needed.
  • Metrics:Focus on delivering product specifications and service levels as determined by the contract/quote, ensuring client compliance with established payment terms. Responsibilities include financial forecasting of project values and timelines.
  • Relationship Building:Establish and maintain relationships with clients and project stakeholders, both external and internal. Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are on track.

Essential Skills

Expertise in project management, organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills are crucial. You should be a natural relationship builder and a team player who takes ownership of their projects and clients and will always find a way to succeed. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude is essential.

Ideally, You Will Have

  • Proven working experience in a project management environment.
  • A client-focused approach and the ability to manage a diverse range of situations.
  • A positive and assertive disposition suitable for managing pressurised projects.
  • A good eye for detail and design.
  • Advanced planning skills for all stages of a project. PRINCE or other formal Project Management experience would be desired but not essential.
  • Strong research and procurement skills.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels with clients and suppliers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to quickly understand numbers and prices to negotiate financial terms with clients easily.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in the Interior Design industry would be highly advantageous.
  • The ability to come up with creative ideas and practical solutions supported by common sense.

This is not a rigid or corporate project management role - you’ll need initiative, adaptability, and a passion for problem-solving. It’s about finding a way, working with diverse teams, and taking real ownership of your projects, all while championing both creative integrity and commercial outcomes.

Please note you need to be flexible with working irregular hours, as client meetings or installations can occasionally take place outside of office hours. A driving licence and your own car are required
