Job summary

The School of Arts at Lancaster University seeks a Technician to support the operation of its workshops, assist teaching, and provide practical help to staff and students.

This career development role spans Grades 5 and 6 of the University pay scale; you will complete a training programme to fulfill full duties. Based mainly at the Bailrigg campus, it also supports other programmes as required. Please note this job is only available to current Lancaster University employees.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of wood, paint and sculpting materials to support teaching and research.
• Excellent communication skills and experience supporting technical resources.
• Ability to supervise staff and students in workshop environments.

Responsibilities

• Support operation of School of Arts workshops.
• Train and supervise staff and students.
• Provide backing to Art programme and other departments.
