Arts Teacher, Director of Instrumental Music

  • Director for two instrumental performance groups (orchestra and jazz band)
  • Co-coordination, alongside the Director of Choral Music and the Technical Director, of two major concerts per year, recitals, and additional performances on- and off-campus
  • Oversight of small independent student ensembles, including chamber groups and jazz combos
  • May include leadership of the Pit Band in the Winter Musical (afternoon program)
Responsibilities

  • Coordinate major concerts, recitals, and performances with colleagues.
  • Oversee student ensembles, fostering musical growth and collaboration.
  • Potentially lead the Pit Band for the Winter Musical.
Requirements
  • B.A. or B.S. in music or music education preferred; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience directing various instrumental ensembles and teaching in secondary or college settings.
  • Ability to work collegially and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Enjoy working with young people in a boarding school environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
