Job summary

The Drama Department at Queen Mary University of London invites applications for a Research Assistant to work with Professor Caoimhe McAvinchey on a project in arts, education and criminal justice contexts. The role is fixed-term, part-time (0.4 FTE, 14 hours per week) for six months from 1 January 2027 to 30 June 2027.

You will conduct observations, interviews, data processing and analysis, and contribute to written outputs shared with project partners.

Qualifications

• Must have or be near completing an MA/MSc in arts and humanities or social sciences.
• Experience in education or arts and criminal justice research, data processing and analysis, and writing up results.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Observe participatory arts workshops in criminal justice contexts.
• Liaise with project partners and conduct follow-up interviews.
• Analyze interviews and prepare written outputs for partners.
