Job Description:

Protocol Education is currently recruiting teaching assistants from creative backgrounds such as art, music, or acting who are passionate and engaging. We work with several special needs schools in Wandsworth, providing roles working with primary, secondary, and post-16 students. These schools offer tailored curricula for students with various needs, including autism, physical difficulties, and learning difficulties. As a teaching assistant, you will work in classes of 6-8 students and have opportunities to utilize your creative skills in lessons like art, music, dance, and movement. The role starts after Easter and is expected to continue for the remainder of the academic year, with the possibility of extension.

The role includes:

  • Monday to Friday (8:30 - 15:30, schedule may vary by school)
  • Working one-to-one with students across primary, secondary, or post-16 levels
  • Engaging students through creative activities such as music, art, and movement
  • Developing communication and social skills through creative approaches
  • Supporting sensory integration within the classroom
  • Collaborating with teachers to assess pupils’ abilities and progress

The candidate should have:

  • Ability to apply creative skills to support sensory development
  • Comfort working with students with special needs
  • A desire to positively impact students’ learning and development
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday
  • Willingness to learn and implement new skills in an educational setting

Pay rates are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent employment later.
