Crag Community Arts is looking to engage an innovative freelance artist to work as part of a team to deliver the Carrick Carnival Of Light in Girvan, Ayrshire.

Crag Community Arts is seeking an experienced artist to lead lantern workshops culminating in a parade and performance themed "The Song of the Sea". The project involves 6 weeks of workshops leading to a parade on the weekend of 25th/26th October 2025.

You should have experience in workshop delivery, a strong interest in community arts, practical 3D skills, and an interest in performance. Lantern making training will be provided at the start. Workshops will be held during weekdays, weekends, and evenings.

The role involves working as part of a team, developing your artistic practice, and contributing to the design, delivery, and production of the Carnival of Light. Responsibilities include leading lantern workshops in schools post-induction, typically with two artists or an artist and assistant per workshop.

This position requires occasional weekend and evening work, a valid driving license, and own transport due to travel requirements. The role is paid at £130 per day (8 hours including a 1-hour break), totaling 18 days over 6 weeks. Accommodation assistance may be available if necessary.
