AI Engineer – Crawley, West Sussex (On-site, Full-time)

Join a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation based in Crawley as an AI Engineer, helping shape and deliver next-generation AI solutions with real-world impact. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a newly formed, high-performance team building enterprise-grade AI from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions using Python and modern ML frameworks.
• Building and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs), working with embedding models and vector databases.
• Creating agentic workflows and tools that simulate decision-making in dynamic environments.
• Collaborating closely with product owners and business stakeholders to translate problems into scalable solutions.
• Implementing AI tools within a modern cloud infrastructure (Azure or similar).
• Supporting ongoing AI experimentation and driving continuous model improvement.
• Keeping up to date with research and innovations in AI, ML, NLP, and generative models.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including supervised/unsupervised learning.
• Experience with cloud environments – ideally Azure, but AWS or GCP also considered.
• Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS).
• Practical experience building production-ready AI applications.
• Ability to work on-site in Crawley in a collaborative, agile environment.
• A curious mindset, eagerness to learn, and a genuine interest in AI’s practical applications.
